INK AND WATERCOLOR DRAWINGS/PAINTINGS

My process begins by drawing many figures. I use ink, watercolor and graphite for the rendering. Next, I select a background. For my background, I use a photo for reference of something I photographed on a walk or I make it up. Once I complete the background, I choose the figure(s) to place in the background image. The figure is cut out and glued down to the background. It is always a surprise when I discover which figures work in the image and what it means. I love that chance brought these two random images together. The viewer sees a naturalistic image which has a multi-faced quality of content, very much the way we come across scenes in our own lives and can only wonder just what is happening in front of us.
