A funny thing happens when you look at African, Greek, Oceanic, Roman, etc. sculpture. You are transported back in time and yet, here you are. You are in your present and attaching meaning to work through your current time lens. My current work is ink and watercolor drawings of sculptures that I felt attracted to. The reason for this attraction varies with each piece. They began as individual works. Later, I began grouping them together. By grouping them together they take on new meaning because of what questions are being raised in your moment in time. What occurs is a blending of past and current meaning as to what the work is trying to say.
